Papaya mezhukkupuratti(stir fry)


Ingredients:
Raw papaya        - 2 cups
(Finely sliced lengthwise)
Dry red chilli       - 3
Garlic                 - 1/4 cup
Shallots               - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves        -  1 string
Coconut oil          -  1/4 cup
Salt as required

Method:
Crush dry red chillies,garlic cloves,shallots and curry leaves together and keep aside.
Heat oil in a frying pan.Add the crushed ingredients to this and saute  for a minute.To this add sliced papaya,turmeric powder and salt .Saute again.Cook on low - medium flame with lid closed until it is done and the excees water is absorbed.Serve hot.

Very nutritive recipe.yummy tooo. Nice click too.The crushed chilly is the most attractive part in this recipe. I make koorka in the same manner.

I love the mixture of sweet and spicy. The use of red chili really balances out with the sweetness of the papaya. Very nice dish!

Oh i miss papaya...was wondering we used to get lot of papayas free from our trees and here even if we are ready to pay much, we dont get any....love papayas....and ur dish maked me drooooooooooooooool.....

This is pretty cool! We do have pickled green papaya but have never tried stir frying it. Looks delicious with the tumeric!

yummy mezhukkupiratti.I used to prepare the thoran using this .but never tried the mezhukkupiratti ..liked the crushed ingredients.In my stir fry recipes the ingredients are same but do not crush the ingredients,the chili garlic shallots is good combination..sure it will give more taste.sure will try this method

i have tried a few dishes made from raw papaya, but somehow cudn't devlp the taste. i like it best as a dry chutney made with shredded raw papaya tht's given with gujju snacks like fafda and khaman. dropped in to say hi. how have u been? :)

This is probably easier to make than to pronounce. I really want to try it though--stir fry is so easy and delicious.

sha , pappaya is my fvrt. u remember how mummy does. she cuts pappaya in very thin cubes. thats very yummy. try to cut like that and try.
